Government strives to reach development in every village in the State. The Government intends to organize Goa SARAS Exhibition in various parts with the sole aim to provide easy access for people stated Minister for Rural Development AgencyShri Govind Gaude at the 11 days Goa Saras Exhibition 2023- 2024 function organized at near Bodgeshwar Temple Mapusa on Friday .
The function was organized by DRDA which was inaugurated by Minister for RDA Shri Govind Gaude. The Minister further speaking said Saras Exhibition aims to provide a platform to the rural Producers/Artisans to provide them the required exposure and market their products through Exhibitions in various States of India
.”This is the avenue where women are provided opportunity to showcase their skills of production, selling, women showcase their talent” Said Gaude
He appreciated the participants who have come down to Goa from different parts of the country. Deputy Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly ShriJoshua Peter D’Souza in his address appreciated the move of the Government to decentralize the event in the larger interest and for better exposure to Self Helpbeneficiaries. He appealed to cooperate with the Government to empower themselves. President Shree Dev Bodgeshwar Sasthan Mapusa Shri Anand Bhaidkar thankedtheMinister Shri Govind Gaude and Deputy Speaker Shri Joshua De Souza fororganizing Saras festival in Mapusa and making itaccessible for people from surrounding areas. Project Director DRDA Shri Bhushan Savoikar, in his opening remarks said that the purpose behind organizing SARAS exhibition is to provideplatform for the products produced by various Self Help Groups from all over theState and other states of the country. Charperson of Mapusa Municilal Council Smt. Priya Mishal, Adhyaksh North Goa Zilla Panchayat, Shri Siddhesh Naik also spoke on the occasion. speaking on the issue of Ravidnra bhavan Guade said that they have written a letter to the concerned Authority but there will have to be constant follow ups by the MLA to speed up the work we are only waiting for an NOC from the concerned authority for the approval of providing us the land so once this process is complete we can expect the project to start ” said Gaude
Self Help Groups from various states like Maharashtra , Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Panjab, Gujarat, Kerala, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand have participated in the SARAS festival. Adv Alka Chopdekar compered the function while Director DRDA South Goa Smt Dipali Naik proposed the vote of thanks.
