THE BICHOLIM POLICE ARE NOT REGISTERING FIR; PRAKASH’S BROTHER WRITES TO SP (NORTH)!

Bichollm: Prakash Vinayak Patil, a notorious criminal from Zariwada-Podoshe, Sattari, has been missing from Sal- Bicholim for the last three months. Prakash’s brother Prashant, in a complaint to the Bicholim Police, has demanded a probe in to the murder of his brother Prakash by his wife Manjula Prakash Patil alias Vadar and her relatives. However Prashant has sent a letter to the North Goa, Superintendent of Police as the Bicholim Police are not willing to register a FIR.

The missing Prakash Patil is a notorious history sheeter and a convicted criminal in the State of Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka. He was previously married to a woman named Radha and out of the wedlock has a son Vinayak. The couple later divorced. After divorce, Prakash married Manjula Vadar. Radha also married another person. In his complaint, Prashant has alleged that Prakash has married again to a woman by name Supriya from Kankavli (Maharashtra), for the third time and she is pregnant.
Prakash has built a farmhouse at Maneri (Dodamarg, Dist. Sindhudurg). He had given the construction contract to his brother-in-law Nagesh Vadar (Manjula’s brother) of Sal-Bicholim. Manjula’s brother Nagesh had taken Rs 8 lakhs from him. However, he was not returning the money to Prakash as promised. There was an internal dispute between Manjula and Prakash over this,” the complainant alleges in his complaint.

Prakash was released from custody in Maharashtra on December 2nd or 3rd of 2023 and Manjula and his third wife Supriya had gone to pick him up. On December 4th , Prakash came home to meet his mother at Padoshe. On his way on December 7, he had told his mother that he had locked the bedroom and would not bring Manjula home. On December 17th , he came back home with his son Tejas and told his mother that he would not bring Manjula back but would take care of their child, Tejas, the complainant Prashant alleges in his complaint.

Prakash had invested Rs 16 lakhs in a property in Kasai, Dodamarg. He wanted the sale deed of the property to be registered in his name. However, Manjula was fighting to get the sale registered in her name. Prashant has also alleged in the complaint that Nagesh Vadar had cheated Prakash by charging more than the actual price while constructing the farmhouse at Maneri.

Prakash had visited his house at Podoshe in the morning of December 29, 2023, the day of the incident and while leaving the house Prakash told his mother that he is going to Sal to take his 8 lakhs back from Nagesh and will transfer the house tax in his name from Manjula’s name by visiting the local Panchayat with Manjula. He has not called his mother since then, according to the complaint.

The complainant, Prashant, who is based in Pune, was called by his mother on January 25 as there was no contact with Prakash. She said she had not even been informed by the police that he had been arrested. On February 20, 2024, Supriya called her mother and told her that she is Prakash’s wife. According to the complaint, Prakash had married her and told her that he would leave Manjula and take her home. Prakash had gone to Sal-Bicholim on December 29th to get money from Manjula’s brother. There he had a fight with Manjula and her family. This information was immediately reported to me by my mother,” the complaint said.

Meanwhile, on February 21, I came to Goa and on January 21, Manjula came home with her son in Podoshe and opened one of the bedrooms of the locked house and started living in it. When asked about the whereabouts of Prakash , Manjula informed that they had a fight on December 29. However, she refused to give the names of the family members involved in the fight. On February 22, Manjula was forced to lodge a missing complaint with the Bicholim Police, Prashant said in his complaint.

Suspecting Manjula and her family members, the complainant Prashant Patil went to Dodamarg Rural Hospital and inquired. Prakash was admitted in the hospital on December 29. He had been hit on the head and was vomiting blood. Besides, Manjula was also admitted there for treatment. The doctors had referred Prakash to District Hospital, Mapusa for further treatment. But Manjula and her family did not take Prakash to Mapusa. In his complaint, Prashant has alleged that his brother Prakash may have succumbed due to the serious injuries sustained by him when he was assaulted with sharp weapons by Manjula and her family and then they must have disposed of his body to avoid being charged with murder. In his complaint Prashant has alleged that the Rural Hospital Dodamarg Doctors and Staff were supposed to register a MLC and refer the case to the Dodamarg Police, however without reporting the case to Police issued a Referral letter to Prakash and Manjula and discharged them.

Prashant has alleged in his complaint that on the discharge papers/book of Rural Hospital Dodamarg as against the discharge entry of Prakash Patil the name of Nagesh Vadar and his mobile number is found recorded which fortifies the suspicion.

There is motive for Manjula and her family members as Prakash wanted to disown her and was demanding his money back from her brother Nagesh and even wanted to change the house tax registration from Manjula’s name to his name says Prashant in his complaint. Manjula on January 24 as against the wishes of Prakash, has executed the Deed of Sale in her favour with Nagesh Vadar signing as a witness of the property at Kasai, Dodamarg- Maharahtra and the farm house keys are in possession of Manjula clearly discloses motive, the complainant has alleged. From this overall incident, it is clear that Manjula and her family killed Prakash and a case of murder should be registered against the suspects under sections 143, 144, 147, 148, 302, 201 and 149 of the IPC the complainant has alleged. On March 8, Prashant Patil had lodged a complaint with the Bicholim Police but the Police refused to register a case. On March 27, 2024, Prashant Patil filed a complaint before the North Goa Superintendent of Police, seeking a direction to the Bicholim Police to register a FIR and investigate it and locate the whereabouts of his brother Prakash Patil.
