Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant Launches Lighthouse Project for Plastic

Panaji, Goa – October 16: In a significant step towards reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainability, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today launched the Lighthouse Project for Plastic under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Mondelez International. The project is implemented in association with the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) and Anubhuti Welfare Foundation.

Attending the launch event, Environment Minister Shri Aleixo A. Sequeira emphasized the importance of collective efforts in tackling plastic pollution. “This project demonstrates our commitment to protecting Goa’s environment and promoting eco-friendly practices.” Said sequeira

The Lighthouse Project for Plastic aims to: Collect and recycle 100 tons of plastic waste.Educate 10,000 students on plastic waste management. Engage 500 community members in beach cleanups.

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant added, “We are committed to making Goa a model state for plastic waste management. The Lighthouse Project for Plastic is a crucial step towards achieving this goal, and we look forward to working together with Mondelez International, GSPCB, and Anubhuti Welfare Foundation to create a cleaner, greener Goa for future generations.”
