Margao: In a dramatic floodlit clash at the MCC Ground in Margao on Thursday, SinQ Rangers UC registered their first win in the Alcon GSB Unity Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, defeating Mapusa Dream Crushers by three wickets.
After winning the toss, the Rangers opted to bowl first. The decision paid off as the Crushers struggled early, eventually being bowled out for 146 runs in 19.3 overs. Key contributions for Mapusa came from Nityay Kunkolienkar (36), Vipul Deshprabhu (35), Mehank Dharwadkar (20), and Neel Netravalkar (18). However, lower-order collapses restricted the team’s ability to post a competitive total.
SinQ Rangers’ bowlers made a significant impact on the game, with Megh Netravalkar, Anish Kakode, and Sanat Mhapne claiming two wickets each, while Tunish Sawkar and Vardhan Prabhu Misquin added another wicket apiece.
In reply, SinQ Rangers chased down the target with determination. A 70-run opening partnership between Sairaj Dhond (35) and Sahil Adwalpalkar (35) set the foundation for the win. The middle order provided further stability, with Vardhan Prabhu Misquin remaining unbeaten on 33 and Sanat Mhapne contributing a crucial 24* to guide the team home.
