Visteon Opens New Technical Center in Goa, India
June 3, 2022, Panjim: Visteon (NASDAQ: VC), a global technology company serving the mobility industry, today inaugurated its new expanded technical center in Goa.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by delegates from the Government of Goa including Dr. Pramod Sawant, Honorable Chief Minister of Goa, and Mr. Rohan Khaunte, Honourable Minister for Information Technology, Tourism, Printing & Stationery – Govt. of Goa, MLA – Porvorim.
Joining employees and regional government representatives at the opening ceremony were Sachin Lawande, Visteon’s President and CEO, along with members of Visteon’s executive team and India leadership team.
The new center will have a seating capacity of 50 with the potential for further expansion. This center will contribute to the development of advanced technologies in the areas of cybersecurity, Android-based infotainment, AUTOSAR, driver awareness systems, and autonomous vehicle solutions for regional and global customer applications.
Commenting on the occasion, Sachin Lawande, President and CEO, Visteon, said, “We will work with the universities to develop internship programs and prepare students for their professional journey. We are seeking “diamonds in the rough” (students with high potential) to mentor and guide, and look forward to them contributing significantly to the new technology development from Goa.”
Today, Visteon also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with two universities in Goa (Goa College of Engineering and Padre Conceicao College of Engineering) to foster collaboration between industry and academia. The company plans to fill the majority of its open positions with graduates from local universities.
