Crime Branch Cracks Down on Narcotics: 20-Year-Old Arrested, MDMA Worth ₹1.15 Lakh Seized
MAPUSA, GOA In a swift operation, the Crime Branch of the Goa Police arrested Vikas Rathod (20) during a narcotics raid at Guirim, Bardez, on Monday . The raid resulted in the seizure of 6.613 grams of MDMA, valued at approximately ₹1.15 lakh.
According to police sources, the raid was conducted based on credible intelligence gathered by the Crime Branch. Rathod, a resident of Guirim, was found in possession of the contraband, which was cleverly concealed.
The police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and are investigating Rathod’s connections to the narcotics trade.
The seizure of MDMA, a popular party drug, has sent a strong message to those involved in the illicit narcotics trade in Goa. The police have assured that they will continue to crack down on narcotics-related activities in the state.
The Crime Branch is further investigating the matter to unravel the network of narcotics suppliers and distributors in the state. The police have appealed to the public to come forward with any information related to narcotics-related activities.
