Calangute panchayat football tournament: “Candolim SC Edges Out St Anthony’s SC siolim
In a nail-biting match at the Calangute Panchayat Cup 2025, Candolim SC secured a hard-fought 5-4 victory over St Anthony’s SC Marna-Siolim. The match, held at Poriat ground, saw both teams display their skills, with the Marna colts leading 3-2 at halftime.
St Anthony’s Saideep Pomburphekar scored a brace, and Dailesh Pednekar added a third goal. However, Candolim made a strong comeback in the second half, with Marcus Fernandes scoring twice and Ashley Fernandes and Rajat Chopdekar adding one goal each.
Despite Sadanand Dabholkar’s late goal for Marna, Candolim held on to their lead, winning the match 5-4. Marcus Fernandes was adjudged man-of-the-match, receiving the award from former GFA Vice President Francis Fernandes.
