PM MODI CONCLUDES HISTORIC CROATIA VISIT, SETS STAGE FOR ENHANCED BILATERAL COOPERATION
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has concluded his first-ever official visit to Croatia, marking a significant elevation in India-Croatia ties. During his day-long visit, PM Modi held delegation-level talks with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and met with President Zoran Milanović.
Both leaders emphasized commitment to global peace, democratic values, and expanding cooperation across trade, technology, and culture. PM Modi advocated for peaceful resolution of conflicts, condemning terrorism and emphasizing the need for dialogue and diplomacy.
The two nations signed four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in areas such as agriculture, science and technology, culture, and education. A long-term Defence Cooperation Plan will be formulated to include joint training, military exchanges, and industry-level partnerships.
Bilateral trade and resilient supply chains will be strengthened, with new areas of cooperation identified in pharma, agriculture, IT, clean and digital technologies, renewable energy, and semiconductors. PM Modi highlighted growing cooperation in shipbuilding, cybersecurity, and defence.
PM Modi appreciated the growing popularity of yoga in Croatia and expressed confidence that International Yoga Day will be celebrated with enthusiasm. The establishment of a Hindi Chair at the University of Zagreb will promote cultural exchange and understanding.
PM Modi’s visit has opened a new chapter in India-Croatia cooperation, based on shared values and mutual aspirations for peace, progress, and prosperity. The visit marked a significant milestone in the bilateral relationship, setting the stage for future strategic collaborations.
