Mapusa: After two months, thieves broke into two fund boxes and looted approximately 12 lakhs in the well-known Shree Bodgeshwar  temple  at Mapusa . Four masked robbers tied the security guard to a chair and looted the cash, threatening to kill him. After the Devasthan Committee informed the Mapusa police about this matter, the police rushed to conduct the Panchnama and speed up the investigation.
The dev Bodgeshwar Sansthan in mapusa is also famous in Maharashtra, Karnataka along with Goa. His reputation as a swearing god is spreading. That is why many devotees from the poor to the wealthy used to come for darshan and produce Offerings in large quantities. But, as the crooked eyes of thieves turned towards this shrine, the issue of its security has now come to the fore. Although the Devasthan Committee has appointed a security guard at this place, it is now clear that it is not enough. Two months ago, on March 28, at 4.30 a.m., there was a commotion in this temple when thieves broke the donation box of located in the temple. In that case, the Mapusa police immediately speeded up the investigation cycle and within a few hours Sagar Shinde (40) and Anand Naik (40) natives of Karnataka were arrested. However, at this place today, four veiled thieves broke two fund boxes and looted the money offered by the devotees.
All thefts have been caught on CCTV cameras. As per the CCTV footage, the four armed robbers entered the temple wearing veils at 2.07 pm. The four then threatened the security guard with a knife and took him to the back of the shrine and tied him to a chair. After that, both the fund boxes in the temple were broken. After a person came to the temple for darshan at 3 am, he saw all this. He released the security guard. After that, both of them went to the priest’s house near the temple and gave information. The priest approached the temple committee. The temple committee immediately informed the Mapusa police. According to the Devasthan, there was approximately Rs 12 lakh in the fund boxes. After getting information about this incident, the Mapusa police arrived at the scene and have speeded up the investigation by conducting Panchnama.
