Calangute: Calangute sarpanch Joseph Sequeira on Friday announced that the panchayat has managed to achieve almost 100 per cent cleanliness of the village with the co-operation of the people and the panch members
Sarpanch Joseph sequeira was speaking at a function after inaugurating 4 garbage trucks procured under the funds from 15th finance commission. besides sarpanch also present were panch member Savio, Gonsavles, Prasad Shirokar, Alex Couthino,Parish Priest of Saint Alex church calangute Fr Polly Lobo and the villagers.
“In Calangute, we have given top priority to garbage collection and that is the reason why we have achieved 100 percent cleanliness of the village we urge the locals to give segregation topmost priority ,” Sequeira said.
The large influx of migrants and the locals in the village has lead to dumping of garbage anywhere, so now we have procured trucks to make the village garbage free ,” sequeira further said.
secretary of Panchayat Arjun Velip also also spoke on the occasion.
