Calangute: Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, announced the revival of the Fondvem project at Corbravaddo calabngute and assured of making a channel for the water flow by putting a ‘bundhara’ on both sides and a garden
He was speaking to reporters after inspecting the Fondvem project at Cobravaddo calangute in the presence of Panch member swapnesh Vaignkar and officials from the WRD department . the entire works will be taken up at a cost of Rs 2.7-cr
We are also intending to doing a walking track which will come on top of the retaining walls where locals can go for walks,” lobo said.
“There is a need to protect the water way and we have conducted an inspection to protect this water way by making a channel and I have urged the ward member for this water to take personal interest in protecting this water way by removing all the encroachments: said lobo
Panch member swapnesh vaignakar also thanked MLA Michael lobo for inspecting the site and planning for the development of the area
It may be recalled that the Water Resources Department’s (WRD) attempt to revive the development of the nullah originating at the ‘Fondvem’ water body at Khobrawaddo in Calangute had run into trouble again, after the Calangute Constituency Forum (CCF) claimed the project would ‘disturb the ecological balance of the area’.
