GOA CHIEF MINISTER DR. PRAMOD SAWANT MEETS WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS, BOOSTS SELF-SUFFICIENCY INITIATIVES
Panaji, Goa – October 12 Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today met with women entrepreneurs from the Start-Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) at a special interaction session, emphasizing the government’s commitment to empowering women-led enterprises.
Accompanied by Rural Development Minister Shri. Govind Gaude and other officials, Dr. Sawant highlighted the significance of women entrepreneurs in driving Goa’s economic growth.
“The SVEP has been instrumental in supporting 1693 Self-Help Group (SHG) members through Community Enterprise Funds (CEF). We encourage these women entrepreneurs to produce at least 50% of the items required in the state, contributing to our Swayampurna Goa vision,” Dr. Sawant said.
This initiative aims to promote self-sufficiency, boost local economies, and enhance the income of SHG members.
Dr. Sawant reassured the women entrepreneurs of the government’s dedication to providing necessary schemes to boost their enterprises.
“We are committed to creating an ecosystem that fosters entrepreneurship, particularly among women. Our goal is to make Goa a model state for self-sufficiency and economic growth,” Dr. Sawant added.
The interaction session was attended by women entrepreneurs, SHG members, and officials from the Rural Development department.
